Forest Lake United Methodist Church

3 blocks south of 15th Street, 2 blocks east of Hackberry Lane, at 1711 4th Ave in Tuscaloosa. Click map for more details from Yahoo! Maps.

From the McFarland Blvd. exit (#73) on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Take McFarland Blvd West, toward the UA campus and downtown - go 1.7 miles.
  2. Turn left at 15th St E - go 0.8  miles. (You will PASS 4th Ave. East.)
  3. Turn left at 4th Ave. (west) - go three blocks.
  4. Church is on left, parking lot on right.

From Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen S. Wallace Blvd. south or I 359 Exit at 15th Street.
  2. Travel east on 15th St. 1.6 miles
  3. Turn right at 4th Ave. - go three blocks.
  4. Church is on left, parking lot on right.

Ferguson Center

On the UA Tuscaloosa campus at the corner of Campus Dr & 7th St. Please check the directions below, because there has been quite a bit of construction in that part of campus lately. Some roads have been changed significantly. Even Google Maps is not up-to-date!

From the McFarland Blvd. exit (#73) on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Take McFarland Blvd past University Blvd. to the Jack Warner Parkway (formerly known as River Road). Circle around and go west, toward the UA campus and downtown, and not toward Holt. This is the last exit before the bridge over the Black Warrior River.
  2. The first traffic light on Warner Pkwy, at River Road Park East, is Hackberry Ln. (It's been rerouted here; this used to be the McCorvey Drive exit.) Turn left.
  3. Hackberry Lane soon veers off to the left at the first traffic light. In order to continue going straight, you must turn right onto McCorvey Drive.
  4. After that intersection, you'll soon pass the AIME (Alabama Institute for Manufacturing Excellence) building (#139 in the map above). Turn left and wind around to park in its parking lot. Ferguson Center is the big building on the far side of that large parking lot, across Campus Drive.
  5. McCorvey Drive dead-ends at the Ferguson Center plaza. So, if you miss the turn for the parking lot, you can turn around there and go back, or park at the near-by parking deck.
  6. Parking is free and permitted in all campus lots on the weekend -- unless there's a football game!

From Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Turn right (east), but then...
  2. Turn left one block later onto Greensboro Ave.
  3. Take Greensboro down the hill toward the river. Turn right on Jack Warner Parkway (formerly River Road).
  4. Follow the river past River Road Park on the left. At the first traffic light you'll come to, which is now Hackberry Lane (formerly the McCorvey Drive exit), turn right.
  5. Hackberry Lane soon veers off to the left at the first traffic light. In order to continue going straight, you must turn right onto McCorvey Drive.
  6. After that intersection, you'll soon pass the AIME (Alabama Institute for Manufacturing Excellence) building (#139 in the map above). Turn left and wind around to park in its parking lot. Ferguson Center is the big building on the far side of that large parking lot, across Campus Drive.
  7. McCorvey Drive dead-ends at the Ferguson Center plaza. So, if you miss the turn for the parking lot, you can turn around there and go back, or park at the near-by parking deck.
  8. Parking is free and permitted in all campus lots on the weekend -- unless there's a football game!

  1. Take McFarland Blvd West, toward the UA campus and downtown - go 1.7 miles.
  2. Turn left at 15th St E - go 1.1 miles.
  3. Turn right at Hackberry Ln - go 0.5 mi
  4. Turn left at Paul W Bryant Dr - go 0.1 mi to 627 Paul Bryant Dr.

From LurleenWallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen S. Wallace Blvd. to Paul W Bryant Dr (formerly 10th Street). Go East through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. Stay on Paul Bryant Dr. past Queen City Blvd., the football stadium, and 10th Ave to 627. If you hit Hackberry Ln., you've gone too far.

St. Francis Catholic Student Center

  1. Take McFarland Blvd to University Blvd. Go West, toward the UA campus and downtown.
  2. Left on Hackberry Ln.
  3. Left on 9th street

From LurleenWallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take LurleenS. Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Go East through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. Right on Hackberry Ln.
  3. Left on 9th street
  4. Left on 5th ave

Moore Hall

From the McFarland Blvd. exit (#73) on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Take McFarland Blvd to University Blvd. Go west, toward the UA campus and downtown.
  2. Moore Hall will be on the left, set back from the road, at the corner of 6th Ave which is where the quad starts on right (no street sign).
  3. 6th Ave. is one way, so turn left at the next opportunity onto Elm Drive just after passing Moore Hall to reach parking area, which is behind the building (no permits required on weekends!).

From LurleenWallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take LurleenS. Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Go East through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. When you see the Quad on the left look for Elm Drive on the right.
  3. When you turn right on Elm Drive you will see Moore Hall on your left. There is parking behind building (no permits required on weekends!)

Farley's Ballroom

523 Queen City Ave., near University Blvd.; between the UA campus and downtown Tuscaloosa. Directions follow below. Click here for maps/directions from Google.

From Interstate 20/59:

  1. Exit on I 359 (US 69) north, toward Tuscaloosa/Northport (not Moundville).
  2. I 359 descends to street level and becomes Lurleen S. Wallace Blvd. Continue on it to University Blvd.
  3. Turn right on University Blvd. to go east through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  4. At traffic light at Queen City Ave turn right.
  5. You'll see College Mall immediately on the left. It's less a "mall" than a small shopping center. There is a florist, a yoga center and some other shops. Farley's Ballroom is at the right-hand corner of the building.
  6. Drive around to the right side of the building for parking.

From the I359 exit on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Take I359 north, toward Northport. Once the freeway ends and it becomes a surface street, you're on Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359). It's three lanes, one-way north.
  2. Take Lurleen S. Wallace Blvd. seven blocks to University Blvd. just before you go over the bridge. Turn left.
  3. Go three blocks until University dead-ends at 28th Ave. You may notice the Old Tavern in front of you.
  4. The pavilion is toward the left, in Capitol Park. Park your car anywhere on the street.

Hillel Foundation UA

728 Wallace Wade Ave. On the UA Tuscaloosa campus at the corner of Wallace Wade Ave and 8th Street, across from the football stadium. 

From the McFarland Blvd. exit (#73) on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Take McFarland Blvd to University Blvd. Go West, toward the UA campus and downtown.
  2. Left on Wallace Wade Ave.
  3. Hillel is on the right at the corner of 8th Street.
  4. Parking available on Wade Ave. and 8th Street.

From Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Go East through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. Right on Wallace Wade Ave.
  3. Hillel is on the right at the corner of 8th Street.
  4. Parking available on Wade Ave. and 8th Street.

The University of Alabama Arboretum

Near the UA Golf Course, off 15th Street (aka, Veterans Memorial Pkwy).

Directions to the UA Arboretum

These directions get you to the front gate.

From North/East via I-20/59:

  1. Exit 76 turn Right on US-11 North (Skyland Blvd.) 1.3 miles
  2. Turn left at Buttermilk (follow sign to Tuscaloosa)
  3. Immediately turn left on University Blvd E. (hwy 215 South) 1.2 miles
  4. Turn left at Veterans Mem. Pkwy. (no street sign, you'll see Wendy's and Wachovia) .4 mile
  5. ***As you cross bridge get into left turn lane and turn left (yield sign)
  6. Immediate left (ONE WAY sign)
  7. Immediate left (ONE WAY and Yield sign)
  8. Go straight as road curves to the left .1 mile.
  9. Go through gate .1 mile
  10. You will enter what looks like a large parking lot. Go straight until you see small wooden sign (Arboretum), a fire hydrant and a "No Motorcycles beyond this point" sign. Turn left; road turns to gravel .5 mile
  11. You'll see a larger wooden sign for the Arboretum in the trees and a small parking sign. Turn right; the lot is about .1 mile up the road.
    The pavilion is down the hill--use the stairway, and be careful!

From campus:

  1. Take University Blvd. Going East
  2. Turn right at Veterans Mem. Pkwy. (no street sign, you'll see Wendy's and Wachovia)
  3. Continue from #5 above.

From other points:

  1. Take McFarland Blvd. To 15th Street
  2. Go east (away from Downtown, toward Home Depot)
  3. 15th street becomes Veterans Mem. Pkwy.
  4. Take Loop Rd. exit
  5. Follow ramp and go straight! (Do not turn onto Loop Rd.)
  6. Continue from #7 above.

University Presbyterian Church

1127 8th St. Near the UA Tuscaloosa campus, in the shadow of the football stadium, on 8th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues.

  1. Take McFarland Blvd to University Blvd. Go West, toward the UA campus and downtown.
  2. Left on 12th Ave. (Buffalo Phil's/Publix corner).
  3. Left on 8th Street.
  4. Free street parking is available.

From Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Go East through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. Right on 12th Ave. (Buffalo Phil's/Publix corner).
  3. Left on 8th Street.
  4. Free street parking is available.

Moody Music Building, University of Alabama

On the east side of the UA campus: 810 2nd Avenue (2nd Ave. and University Blvd.). Directions follow below. Click here for maps/directions from Google.

From the McFarland Blvd. exit (#73, US 82 W) on Interstate 20/59:

  1. Go north on McFarland Boulevard.
  2. Travel on McFarland Boulevard for 2.5 miles, past University Mall on the right and Midtown Village on the left. Get in the right lane.
  3. Two blocks after the mall, take the exit ramp in the right lane for University Boulevard (AL 215).
  4. At the end of the ramp, turn right to head west on University Boulevard.
  5. At the fourth traffic light, the Moody Music Building will be on the left.
  6. There is public parking in the lot directly across from the front of the building.

From LurleenWallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359)

  1. Take Lurleen S. Wallace Blvd. to University Blvd. Go east through downtown Tuscaloosa, toward the UA campus.
  2. Stay on University Blvd. past Queen City Blvd., the football stadium, and the Quad to 2nd Ave., which is the traffic light after Hackberry Lane.
  3. If you pass DCH Hospital and McFarland Blvd., you've gone too far.

First Presbyterian Church:
Family Life Center

900 Greensboro Avenue, downtown Tuscaloosa -- between Greensboro and Lurleen Wallace Blvd. and between Stillman Blvd/9th Street and Bryant Drive. For the Family Life Center, please use the pre-school entrance facing Stillman Blvd/9th Street. Bryant Drive is currently under construction.

From Interstate 20/59, take the I359 exit:

  1. Take I359 north, toward Northport. Once the freeway ends and it becomes a surface street, you're almost there!
  2. Proceed on Lurleen Wallace Blvd. (US43, AL69, I359). It's three lanes, one-way north.
  3. You'll see the church on the right, between Bryant Drive and Stillman Blvd./9th Street. Parking is on the left, across Lurleen Blvd. from the church.

From campus:

  1. Take University Blvd toward downtown.
  2. Turn left on Greensboror Ave.
  3. Go four blocks to Stillman Blvd./9th Street. Turn right and either park on the street or cross Lurleen Wallace Blvd. and park in the church parking lot between Stillman Blvd. and Bryant Drive.
  4. Please note: Bryant Drive is currently under construction.
